When unlikely things happen

A testing session of a new work by a Lancaster-based artist presented for an invited audience.

Working with producer dubsection, the artist will set off an installation of metronomes in an attempt to play out The Amen break. Positioned on an array of swinging, rolling and floating apparatus, the metronomes will be programmed in the hope of revealing this classic beat.

The event will be a true experiment and will be the first time the work will be presented. The aim of the testing session is to fine tune the work in response to how it is received, before it is launched at Cornerhouse, Manchester on Friday October 14.

This work is a response to a "Micro Commission" to the artist from Cornerhouse, Manchester, supported by Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
