Inside Out - Wish you Were Here

Jason Minsky

The marble statue of Victoria and Albert in the gallery in the Storey Institute was completed by sculptor Percy Wood in 1891. Starting out from this statue, Jason Minsky travelled the length and breadth of the UK searching out statues of either Victoria or Albert in public spaces.  He decided not to include busts, fountains, bas-reliefs, or statues indoors. He took a polaroid photo of each statue's eye-view and sent it as a postcard back to the couple in the gallery. He also photographed each statue.

He then produced a poster with one side showing a collage of his photos of all these statues, with the date and location of each. The other side shows a map of their locations radiating from the statue in the Storey institute.
