Research workshop

RESEARCH PROJECT STARTED BY STOREY GALLERY

Storey Gallery has initiated a research project with Lancaster University into the potential for collaboration and synergy between publicly funded arts organisations and creative businesses for their mutual benefit. The development of the new Storey creative industries centre provides an opportunity for an exemplar study of such activities as it encompasses both public and commercial creative activities.

Storey Gallery and University staff obtained funds for a pilot study from the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council. This project started in January and is led by Dr Monika Buscher from Lancaster University and John Angus from Storey Gallery. Two doctoral students, Jen Southern and HyunJoo Lee, are collecting information and interviewing people in a variety of organisations across the country. The team are holding a one-day workshop on 19 March in The Storey Creative Industries Centre with invited people attending from all over the UK.
